The reason why TCT 2F straight bit makes big noise when processing MDF
Tool Design Factors
Tooth Profile and Number of Teeth: If a double-edged design has too few teeth (e.g., two), the feed rate per tooth increases, which can easily cause impact vibration. If the tooth profile is too radical (e.g., an excessively large rake angle), cutting force fluctuations can lead to noise.
Poor Dynamic Balance: If the tool is not dynamically balanced during manufacturing, uneven centrifugal force during high-speed rotation can cause resonance.
Inappropriate Machining Parameters
Excessive Speed: Density fiberboard is soft, and excessively high speeds can easily cause idling noise (e.g., spindles above 18,000 rpm).
Feed Speed Mismatch: Feeding too slowly (e.g., <3 m/min) causes tool friction rather than cutting; feeding too quickly (e.g., >8 m/min) can cause a sudden increase in cutting forces.
Machine Tool and Fixture Issues
Insufficient Spindle Rigidity: Large spindle bearing clearance on small CNC machine tools can easily amplify vibration.
Instable Toolholder Clamping: The ER chuck is worn or not tightened according to specifications (recommended torque ≥ 25 N·m).
Influence of Material Properties
MDF has a high glue content and loose fibers, which can easily cause the knife to stick during cutting, leading to intermittent cutting and noise.
