Precautions for using tungsten steel single-edge milling cutter

Parameter optimization

Speed: Need to be 30%~50% higher than multi-edge tools to compensate for single-edge cutting (e.g. aluminum processing: single-edge 12000 rpm vs four-edge 8000 rpm).

Feed: Increase appropriately (F=number of edges × feed per tooth) to avoid frictional heat.

Tool selection

Cutting edge sharpness: Cutting edge arc ≤0.005mm for non-metal processing.

Coating: DLC coating for aluminum, TiN coating for steel (requires reduced speed).

Clamping requirements

High rigidity clamping: Hydraulic tool holder is recommended, runout ≤0.01mm.

Overhang length: Try to be ≤3 times the tool diameter.
