1. Cutting speed
The choice of cutting speed mainly depends on the material of the workpiece to be machined; The choice of feed speed mainly depends on the material of the workpiece and the diameter of the end mill. The tool samples of some foreign tool manufacturers are attached with the tool cutting parameter selection table for reference. However, the selection of cutting parameters is also affected by many factors such as machine tool, tool system, workpiece shape and clamping mode. The cutting speed and feed speed should be adjusted appropriately according to the actual situation.
When the tool life is the priority factor, the cutting speed and feed speed can be appropriately reduced; When the chip off edge condition is not good, the cutting speed can be increased appropriately.
2. Reverse milling
The use of forward milling is conducive to prevent the damage of the blade and improve the service life of the tool. However, two points need to be noted: ① if ordinary machine tools are used for processing, try to eliminate the gap of the feed mechanism; ② When the oxide film or other hardened layer formed by casting and forging process remains on the workpiece surface, reverse milling should be adopted.
3. Tool material
The application scope and requirements of high-speed steel end milling cutter are relatively broad. Even if the selection of cutting conditions is slightly improper, there will not be too many problems. Although cemented carbide end milling cutter has good wear resistance in high-speed cutting, its application range is not as wide as high-speed steel end milling cutter, and the cutting conditions must strictly meet the application requirements of the cutter
